The Opportunity

We are seeking a visionary and execution-oriented Vice President of Fintech to grow our payments and financial services business line. This is a highly strategic leadership role accountable for owning the Fintech vision strategy product roadmap and P&L for all embedded payments and finance will be the primary owner responsible for growing and retaining our payments business while expanding our offering into adjacent fintech services. This role requires a unique blend of strategic leadership product management savvy embedded payments and operational knowledge and entrepreneurial drive.Please note this is a hybrid role with some on-site expectations at our Morgan Hill office to collaborate and stay connected.

What Youll Do:

  • Strategic Ownership:
    • Develop and own the comprehensive strategy and product roadmap for fintech and payments initiatives directly aligning with the companys overall vision and goals.
    • Own the P&L for the fintech business setting ambitious revenue targets and managing the budget to achieve them.
    • Conduct deep market analysis to identify and prioritize opportunities for new financial products tailored to the unique needs of the automotive industry.
    • Present the fintech strategy roadmap and business results to the leadership and executive team.
    • Drive your organization to achieve key performance metrics across payment volume take rate attach rate and more
  • Product & Partnerships:
    • Partner closely with Product Engineering Design to scale a world-class integrated payments and financial services experience within our core Shopmonkey SaaS platform.
    • Drive end-to-end product enhancements from minor new features to large product launches going to market.
    • Identify evaluate and negotiate complex commercial agreements with strategic partners including payment processors compliance vendors and more.
    • Manage and cultivate relationships with financial partners to ensure operational excellence and unlock new opportunities
  • Operations Risk & Compliance:
    • Iterate on a robust framework for payments operations including merchant onboarding and underwriting risk and fraud prevention and payments support for customers.
    • Develop a comprehensive risk management strategy to achieve best in class results for Shopmonkey and our customers.
    • Ensure all financial products are compliant with relevant regulations in partnership with legal counsel.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership:
    • Build mentor and grow a high-performing team across operations risk product sales and CX specialists across the business who are focused on fintech.
    • Champion a culture of innovation data-driven decision-making and customer obsession.
    • Be the subject matter expert on all things fintech and payments both internally and externally to SMB and Enterprise customers.

Who You Are:

  • Experience:
    • 10 years of experience in the embedded fintech and payments space.
    • 3-5 years of experience in a VP leadership role across a fintech business unit product management general management or similar strategic capacity with a track record of scaling an organization and achieving results.
    • Proven experience owning a P&L and driving significant revenue growth.
    • Deep understanding of the embedded fintech and payments ecosystem.
    • Experience in a B2B / vertical SaaS environment is strongly preferred.

    • Technical Acumen: You can engage in deep substantive discussions with product and engineering about APIs tech stacks and development prioritization trade-offs.
    • Data-Driven: You use quantitative and qualitative data to guide decisions define success and identify new opportunities to ultimately provide the greatest value to our customers.
    • Exceptional Leader: You are a skilled people manager who can attract develop retain and tightly performance manage top talent.

In the United States the range is typically a salary of $200000 to $250000 bonus equity benefits.The range provided is Shopmonkeys reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as location experience training skills and abilities. Consult with your Recruiter during the initial call to determine a more targeted range based on these job-related addition to this base compensation company stock options and benefits as outlined below are included.
