Higher Education Generalist / LMS Specialist - Brown County Center Job Description
The Higher Education Generalist/LMS Specialist serves a dual role supporting both instructional technology (with an emphasis on the Canvas LMS) and student services at the Brown County Center. This position provides technical expertise in maintaining and supporting the LMS assists faculty and staff with course delivery technologies and provides guidance to students regarding academic planning enrollment and campus resources. Reports to the Vice President of Instruction. The major duties and responsibilities include:
- Provide administrative support to the Vice President of Instruction as needed.
- Assist with technology setup workstation configuration and software installation for instructional purposes.
- Provide front-line support for Canvas LMS troubleshooting functionality issues resolve access concerns and provide immediate response to problems and emergency situations affecting normal instructional operations.
- Collaborate with the Instructional Designer to document system configurations workflows and procedures.
- Manage user roles permissions and enrollment processes.
- Train faculty staff and students in the effective use of Canvas and instructional technologies through workshops consultations tutorials and guides.
- Generate and analyze LMS reports on usage engagement and performance.
- Monitor system performance proactively recommend upgrades and coordinate with IT staff and vendors.
- Stay current with instructional technology trends accessibility standards and best practices in online learning and LMS system.
- Counsel advise and determine appropriate educational solutions for different types of students in specific curriculum decisions including policies choices and scheduling of courses selection or change of degree plans providing referrals to specific departments as appropriate.
- Assist in recruiting prospective students in Brown County.
- Assist students in navigating online learning tools registration systems and campus services.
- Support campus operations by serving on committees attending meetings and participating in initiatives or special projects.

Ability to balance multiple responsibilities and shift between technical and student-facing tasks. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associate degree preferably in an IT or educational focus.
Experience: At least 2 years work-related experience
