Job Summary:
The Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes at the University of Colorado Anschutz Campus is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide diabetes care and research support in the BDC Adult and the BDC Pregnancy and Womens Health Clinic. The patient population is primarily newly diagnosed and established adults with type 1 diabetes but also includes some adults with type 2 diabetes. The successful candidate will provide clinical care for BDC patients in the BDC Adult clinic and will specifically also provide womens health services in the BDC Pregnancy and Womens Health Clinic. In addition to providing clinical care the Barbara Davis Center has a large clinical research program. This position will also contribute to diabetes-related research studies. Research is conducted on new advanced diabetes technology outcomes related to use of technology and the health complications related to successful candidate will actively participate in facilitating patient-oriented research projects conducted by BDC investigators. Typical hours are Monday-Friday based on clinic appointment schedule with occasional weekends and extended hours as required to accommodate research schedules. This position participates in after-hours on-call provider rotation.
Key Responsibilities:
The position serves at the Instructor rank. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Provide diabetes care to newly diagnosed and established adults with type 1 and type 2 diabetes
Diabetes education and case management for patients
Phone consultations with patients and other NP/PA/physicians in the community
Computer charting/data entry
Educate patients and families in diabetes management
Maintain high standards of the existing diabetes program
Insulin Pump and Continuous Glucose Monitoring Instruction
Contribute to new and ongoing diabetes clinical research protocols
Physical exams for patients enrolled in the clinical research protocol
Manage in clinic and outpatient research protocols (glucose management adjusting pump settings frequent blood draws data entry and management) per protocol.
Interview prospective subjects for a variety of research clinical trials.
Educate potential subjects on the details of the studies through phone contacts and personal interviews
Participate in subject recruitment efforts including communicating with patients expressing an interest and all pre-screening/screening activities
Independently perform study related processes procedures and assessments as defined in study protocol and in compliance with regulating bodies

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
$110000 to $125000 fixed salary plus the possibility of incentives based on clinical productivity.
The above salary range represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
