Position Overview:
The Accounts Payable Clerk being a pivotal member of the Accounts Payable team is responsible for processing and recording NARA NWs weekly Accounts Payables reconciling vendor accounts and assisting with other accounting projects as needed. The position also backs up the Accounts Payable Supervisor. This is not a remote position.
What you will do:
Manage highly complex invoices that require follow-up with staff for obtaining the required documentation and entry.
Ensure all invoices have accurate information proper back-up documentation and appropriate approvals to process payments to vendors contractors and employees.
Process special types of payments such as final/manual payroll checks as needed.
Assist in reconciliation of vendor accounts.
Assist in the check run process each week on-site; able to run and complete reports print checks arrange ACH payments.
Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors.
Establish and maintain relationships with employees of other departments who submit documents to Accounts Payable.
Ensure vendors are maintained correctly in accounting system and documentation is updated as needed.
Maintain accounting records in accordance with relevant accounting and internal control principles and practices. Address payable-related questions and issues raised by employees and vendors.
Be a subject matter expert in Accounts Payable to provide NARA staff instruction and/or clarification on policies and procedures
Maintain Accounts Payable files electronic and paper weekly
Work with co-workers and independently on special projects.
Works collaboratively and maintains professional boundaries with clients other NARA staff team members and treats everyone with respect and dignity at all times.
We would like to hear from people that have:
Accounting degree and 2-3 years relevant experience or the equivalent combination of education training and work experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
Healthcare industry experience a plus
Competence and high level of accuracy with Excel other Microsoft Office products accounting software (Financial Edge a plus) 10-key by touch and/or equivalents. Exceptional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills and superior organizational multi-tasking & prioritization skills.
Requires flexibility a high-level of confidentiality a high level of accuracy and attention to detail and the proven ability to work professionally and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients the community and other staff members.
Work collaboratively with clients other NARA staff team members and to always treat everyone with respect and dignity.
Experience working within the Native American/Alaska Native community is considered a plus.
Must pass a pre-employment or for cause drug tests.
Must pass criminal background and DMV checks.

Benefits:Employees working 20 hours or more are eligible for benefits. Benefits are effective from the 1st of the month following the date of hire.
