Job Description
This position is responsible for coordinating and delivering athletic training services to assigned teams including prevention recognition evaluation and treatment of athletic injuries; acute care and emergency response to athletic injuries; rehabilitation and reconditioning of athletic injuries; and health care administration for the student-athletes.
Salary information: The expected salary for this position is $65000.00 annually.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Key job duties/functions of this position
- Evaluates treats and rehabilitates injuries of TAMUT athletes. Taping bracing and preparation of student athletes for practice and games (events) of assigned sports.
- Provides attendance and supervision for safety preventive and emergency care of student athletes at practices and games (events) of assigned sports. Travel as directed and required with assigned teams.
- Charting and record keeping of student athlete injuries while utilizing current record keeping systems and protocols. Coordination and consultation with Physicians and student athletes and medical facilities regarding health care.
- Assists in supervision of student athletic trainer apprenticeship education.
- Maintains professional licenses and certifications.
- Assists in maintenance and supervision of athletic training room equipment and supply inventory.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- One-year full-time experience or three years part-time paid or voluntary experience as a student trainer.
- Knowledge of word processing spreadsheet and database software.
- General knowledge of NAIA and NCAA rules.
- Knowledge of drug testing procedures
- Ability to comprehend oral and written instructions.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Medical & First Aid skills including joint taping and physical therapy skills.
- Must be able to obtain State of Texas License to practice Athletic Training within six months.
Preferred Qualifications
- Member of the National Athletic Trainers Association
- Licensed Athletic Trainer through the Texas Advisory Board of Athletic Trainers
- CPR Certification
- Automatic External Defibrillator Certification

- Ability to travel and work beyond normal office hours including weekends and holidays.
