Job Summary
We are seeking a Fire Safety Analysis Engineer to join our Risk Informed Engineering (RIE) department reporting to the Fire Safety Analysis (FSA) this role you will perform Fire Probabilistic Risk Analyses (FPRA) and Safe Shutdown (SSD) engineering evaluations. The position involves compiling and analyzing technical inputs demonstrating regulatory compliance and managing engineering tasks and projects as part of a collaborative team.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can prioritize multiple tasks adapt to changing priorities and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform FPRA and SSD risk-related engineering evaluations.
- Review design changes for impacts to FPRA SSD Non-Power Operation (NPO) and Nuclear Safety Capability Assessment (NSCA) models.
- Support updates to FPRA SSD NPO and NSCA models.
- Conduct fire circuit analyses for component control circuits.
- Review vendor products for technical accuracy and provide oversight of comment resolution.
- Interpret and ensure compliance with risk-informed regulatory requirements.
- Prepare technical reports support audits/inspections and provide regulatory inputs.
- Travel to plant sites and industry events as needed.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (or PE license) required.
- Masters degree in Engineering preferred.
Qualifications and Skills
- Knowledge of nuclear power plant design systems or operations required.
- Experience in nuclear power preferred.
- PRA-related experience (Internal Events Fire Flooding Seismic) is an advantage.
- Familiarity with SSD NPO or NSCA model work a plus.
- Experience with PRA and SSD tools (CAFTA Franx Arc Plus) is an advantage.
- Strong analytical organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database software.
- Team player self-starter and adaptable in fast-paced environments.
