We are hiring a QA Engineer with strong development skills to join our team. This role will focus on manual QA testing across browsers devices and platforms while also contributing to bug fixes and development tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented passionate about quality and able to think holistically only as a tester and developer but also from the perspective of content editors and long-term maintainability.
Conduct manual QA testing for web and mobile platforms ensuring cross-browser cross-device and accessibility compliance.
Validate features against requirements and design test cases that include edge cases negative scenarios and boundary conditions.
Perform smoke exploratory and regression testing during release cycles to maintain quality and reliability.
Collaborate with engineers and product managers to define acceptance criteria and ensure high-quality releases.
Own end-to-end defect tracking and resolution documenting issues clearly and driving fixes with developers.
Identify and implement improvements in QA processes to strengthen the SDLC.
Advocate for quality best practices across the team and contribute to process improvements.

3-5 years of freelancing experience.
Excellent written and verbal English communication (C1/C2 level).
3 years of experience in software QA (manual or mixed QA/dev roles).
Hands-on experience testing across browsers and mobile devices.
Strong debugging skills with the ability to read and write code to fix issues.
Familiarity with Git/GitHub and modern development workflows.
Experience with bug tracking tools and test management processes.
Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset.
Exposure to automation frameworks (Cypress Playwright Selenium).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating tests into builds.
Familiarity with React or Shopify Hydrogen ecosystems.
Understanding of web technologies (React JavaScript CSS-in-JS).
Ability to debug and fix issues directly in code.
Monday to Friday 4 hours/day between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM US EST
