Position Overview
The Director of Family Engagement leads the schools strategy for building strong collaborative relationships with families across all grade levelsfrom preschool through eighthgrade. By fostering open communication creating meaningful partnership opportunities and championing family-centered initiatives the Director helps ensure that students thrive academically socially and emotionally.
In addition to family-focused work the Director plays a pivotal role in community building with external partners. This includes cultivating relationships with the local ANC (Area Neighborhood Council) nearby businesses education-focused non-profits foundations and other community organizations. Through these alliances the Director expands resources creates service-learning opportunities and amplifies the schools impact within the broader neighborhood. The role also oversees Out-of-School-Time (OST) programsafter-care clubs and extracurricular organizationsensuring they complement classroom learning meet family needs and reinforce the schools mission of holistic education.
The Director further supports student enrollment and family retention leveraging engagement initiatives to attract new families and keep existing ones actively involved throughout their childrens schooling journey. This role works closely with administrators teachers support staff and community partners to design programs that align with the schools mission of inclusive whole-child education and vibrant community building.
