About the Role:
Youll join Everests expanding Finance function which is laying the groundwork to support the rapid growth of the European Insurance business. Reporting directly to the Europe Head of FP&A and partnering closely with the French country president youll play a pivotal role in delivering the full underwriting P&L and supporting the development of underlying products.
Youll be responsible for driving the annual planning and forecasting cycle managing the close process and implementing scalable analysis that fuels business growth efficiency and automation. Your focus will include building out reporting and analytics supporting the rollout of lead coinsurance and multinational capabilities and ensuring alignment with European reporting standards for consistency across countries.
To thrive in this role youll need a mindset geared toward systems processes and dataespecially as you work to enhance management information (MI) that improves forecasting planning and variance analysis.
This position will be based in our Paris office with a hybrid schedule of working two days remote each week.
Role & Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
Support the delivery of the plan forecast and close processes for the full underwriting P&L.
Develop management reporting and analysis for the French business.
Partner with cost centre owners to proactively manage operating expenses.
Identify variances against plan and forecast ensuring they are investigated understood and resolved where necessary.
Generate variance analysis reports and contribute to the development of robust financial performance modelling including enhancement of Anaplan.
Escalate any financial issues to management and other relevant stakeholders.
Set and monitor KPIs and business objectives while recommending and deploying strategies to improve underwriting results.
Develop management information (MI) and commentary by country product and function.
Help the business understand the financial implications of decisions and drive both strategic and tactical thinking.
Build partnerships and maintain strong relationships across the organisationespecially with the French country president underwriting teams and the European finance team.
Contribute to key strategic financial projects as part of the wider finance function.
Qualifications:
A bachelors degree in Business Economics Finance or Accountancy is preferred though youll also be considered if you hold a degree or qualification in a related or analytical discipline.
You must have a professional accounting qualification.
You bring experience in financial planning and analysis within an insurance organisation.
You understand the company market and have solid knowledge of domestic retail business.
Demonstrate strong organisational skills and manage your time effectively to meet deadlines.
Multitask and operate efficiently in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Use Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint with confidence and proficiency.
Apply strong analytical problem-solving and technical skills.
Manage stakeholders and partner with the business to execute plans and implement strategies.
Negotiate effectively finding win-win solutions.
Work independently and thrive in a team setting as a self-starter.
Communicate clearly and professionally both orally and in writing.
Understand and ensure compliance with internal and external management and regulatory controls.
Leverage your knowledge of the insurance industry and specific product portfolios to positively influence underwriting performance.
Communicate fluently in both French and English.
