Job Description
Prof. Ibrahim Demir at the ByWater Institute Tulane University is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher with expertise in Artificial Intelligence Applied Machine Learning and Generative AI with applications in AI-driven education environmental modeling and decision-making systems. Responsibilities include writing competitive grant proposals for NSF NIH and university-level funding opportunities mentoring graduate and undergraduate students ensuring projects are delivered on time helping clear technical roadblocks and generating innovative research ideas. The role also involves contributing to manuscript preparation professional outreach and interdisciplinary collaborations. Candidates with a strong publication record and experience in AI applications for education hydroscience or computational modeling are encouraged to apply.
Applicants must have (or have recently completed) a Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering computer science or related field. Additionally the ideal candidate will have:
- Strong skills in software engineering web development and experience with multimodal large language models (LLMs) and GenAI frameworks.
- In-depth hands-on proficiency in deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow PyTorch) for GPU-accelerated fine-tuning and model deployment in production environments.
- Expertise in modern front-end frameworks (React Angular) backend technologies ( Python) and relational (PostgreSQL) and vector databases (Qdrant).
- Strong experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines and configuring and managing Ubuntu-based servers.
