Job Description

This distinguished Independent Co-educational School in Barnet is seeking to appoint an exceptional and dedicated History Teacher to join its thriving collaborative Humanities faculty. This is a pivotal permanent full-time role commencing in January 2026. Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging and rigorous History lessons with a substantial focus on A-Level and Oxbridge preparation.

  • Track student progress meticulously ensuring every pupil is intellectually challenged and expertly supported to reach their potential.
  • Drive the academic life of the faculty potentially spearheading a historical society or academic enrichment programme.
  • Uphold the distinguished standards of preparation teaching and discipline expected within a leading independent school environment.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent and a relevant degree specialism in History.
  • Proven success teaching History to A-Level demonstrating mastery across diverse historical periods.
