Job Description

Are you an ambitious and creative Design & Technology Teacher looking for your first permanent role in January 2026

This is a fantastic opportunity to teach DT across Key Stages 35 in a forward-thinking department. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop practical skills problem-solving ability and creative confidence across areas such as Product Design Resistant Materials Graphics and Food Technology.

Design & Technology Teacher Role

  • Design & Technology Teacher (ECTs and experienced teachers considered)

  • January 2026 start

  • Permanent full-time position

  • Salary: MPS1 UPS3

  • Location: Reading

This well-established 1118 mixed comprehensive school has a roll of over 1200 students including a large and successful Sixth Form. Experience and Qualifications required for this DT Teacher position

  • Degree in Design & Technology or a related subject

  • PGCE or QTS

  • Ability to teach DT across KS3/4 (KS5 desirable)

  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for practical hands-on teaching

  • Willingness to contribute to extracurricular clubs competitions and enrichment

Salary

The DT Teacher role will be paid to scale (MPS/UPS) on a permanent contract.
