About the RoleAn exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic and inspirational Computing Teacher to join one of Britains top state schools in Birmingham on a permanent full-time basis starting 01 January 2026. This highly-regarded State Grammar School with nearly 500 years of tradition is seeking a colleague passionate about learning and able to motivate highly able pupils in this crucial subject. The role requires excellent communication skills to teach throughout the age range with a focus on advanced concepts at A-Level. Responsibilities
- Design and deliver a challenging and ambitious Computing curriculum that prepares pupils to flourish in an inter-connected and fast-changing world.
- Engage enthuse and motivate highly able pupils promoting problem-solving rigour and resilience in technical subjects.
- Demonstrate a range of effective behaviour management strategies and teaching skills ensuring high levels of academic achievement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to the schools continuous pursuit of excellence and outstanding examination results.
- Support the strong extra-curricular provision by running a Computing Coding or Technology-related club.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent and a relevant degree specialism in Computing Science or a closely related discipline.
- Proven ability (or clear potential for an ECT) to teach advanced Computing concepts up to A-Level.
