The Director of Sales works with the President to develop communicate and implement the sales strategy for the company in the future. The Director manages the sales team providing guidance and assistance to help them meet sales objectives. Working independently and with the President the Director of Sales identifies annual quarterly and monthly sales revenue objectives by key account region product line salesperson and broker.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and presents annual sales plan for the company identifying key revenue opportunities by key account region product line salesperson and broker.
Monitors company performance to sales objectives through scheduling and conducting monthly quarterly and annual meetings with the leadership team focused on actual results to plan and the identification of causes for sales shortfalls. Recommends and implements remedial actions to ensure forecasted sales are attained.
Conducts market and competitor research; stays up to date on the latest industry trends and best practices through competitive intelligence; finds new leads and gets referrals through networking and contacts.
Manages sales team within the organization setting sales revenue objectives and reviewing performance on a monthly quarterly and annual basis. Assists individual salespeople in developing and executing strategies and tactics to achieve sales goals within their regions. Observes performance of salespeople through regular ride-along mentoring sessions and where appropriate models customer-centric sales techniques to help develop skills.
Identifies and qualifies distributors for strategic sales partnerships. Negotiates rates of compensation with brokers; monitors and reviews performance and relationships to protect the best interests of Client.
Collaborates with production and distribution to ensure customer satisfaction
Uses broad knowledge of sales concepts experience and analytical skills to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways and to provide leadership and direction to the companys year-over-year revenue and profit growth objectives.
Performs other special projects as necessary.
REQUIRED EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND APTITUDES
Bachelors degree in business administration marketing or related area preferred
8 years of professional-level food manufacturing sales experience; 5 years of experience managing a sales team; proven record of developing and executing successful sales strategies and achieving sales targets
Familiarity with key players in the appropriate industries a huge plus
Demonstrated skill at developing effective relationships with key customer decision makers; strong management of varied distributor relationships
Proven financial insight; adept at successful financial discussions with customers; can analyze data track KPIs adjust strategies as needed
Computer and systems savvy; adept at learning new systems and applications; hands-on and data driven
Polished persuasive communicator both internally and with customers and other business partners
As a member of a federally regulated industry Client requires pre-employment drug testing including marijuana.
