Job Description

Role: Deputy Program Manager

POP: 12 Months

Location: National Capital Region (Onsite at Pentagon in DC)

JOB SCOPE:

The Deputy Program Manager performs Program Manager functions when the PM is physically unavailable for duty.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelors Degree required
  • Secret Clearance required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated program management experience with project planning execution and performance
  • Specialized knowledge and expertise in contract management
  • Expertise in requirements definition work planning and control of budget schedule and task execution
  • Strong personnel management and supervision experience with analysts and consultants
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with senior Government officials
  • Experience managing contracts supporting federal government operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel Word PowerPoint)

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with DoD contracts and federal acquisition regulations
  • Knowledge of Army organizational structure and operations
  • Experience in Force Development processes
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management certification

TASKS:

  • Act as Program Manager when PM is unavailable
  • Serve as point of contact for the COR and KO during PM absences
  • Communicate with the COR regarding contract performance issues
  • Ensure contractor personnel continue to perform to contract standards during PM absences
  • Approve emergency staffing decisions and leave requests during PM absences
  • Monitor ongoing contract activities and task performance
  • Address urgent issues that arise during PM unavailability
  • Coordinate with Government representatives on critical matters requiring immediate attention
  • Ensure continuity of contract operations during transition periods
  • Perform assigned tasks when not serving in APM capacity
  • All other duties as assigned by management
