Summary
Estimator / PM is responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings ensuring all project data is available and researched in order to successfully bid and win projects.
Responsibilities
-Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
-Prepares bid submission budget by studying plans; understanding all specifications; identifying and projecting costs for each element of bid.
-Properly turns over bid documents and other documentation to Project Management in a timely manner
-Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements and setting priorities.
-Knows architects general contractors and other potential clients and can close business.
-Handles all client interactions in a manner designed to build a long-term relationship.
-Conducts an initial evaluation of projects to determine best fit the company.
-Shows creativity and resourcefulness to gain better pricing from vendors.
Requirements
-Experience soliciting vendor quotes in an architectural or construction environment with strong knowledge of woodworking industry.
-Secondary education degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
-Change Orders; creating schedules utilizing state-of-the-art software a plus.
-Experience in using estimating software.
