Job Summary:
The Senior Technical Writer will be responsible for creating and maintaining a comprehensive HALO (Health Application Lightweight Protocol) Integration Guide. This guide will provide technical specifications and implementation procedures for third-party applications within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems ensuring interoperability and compliance with standards like CA Core FHIR and SMART on FHIR. The role involves collaborating with architects developers and product owners to gather technical details creating visual aids and ensuring consistency with documentation standards.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with project architects developers and product owners to gather technical details and requirements.
- Authoring structuring and maintaining the HALO Integration Guide.
- Creating visual aids such as sequence diagrams and architecture overviews.
- Applying and ensuring consistency with documentation standards and accessibility guidelines.
- Managing version control and maintaining documentation within the designated repository.
- Developing supplemental materials to support vendor onboarding and implementation.
- Delivering an initial draft integration guide within 4 weeks of the start date.
- Creating a final release-ready integration guide incorporating feedback.
- Providing timely updates to the guide to reflect project enhancements and vendor feedback.
- Developing supplemental materials such as onboarding presentations FAQs and glossaries.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- 7 years of experience creating technical documentation for software integrations API specifications or system implementation guides.
- Ability to translate complex technical input into clear structured documentation for a technical audience.
- Proficiency with diagramming tools (e.g. Lucidchart Visio).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- API Fundamentals (Rest HTTP Methods).
- Integration Concepts.
- JSON YAML Postman Confluence.
- Demonstrated experience working with APIs and OAuth/OIDC service.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Solid technical background with understanding of RESTful APIs OAuth 2.0/OIDC pub/sub and cloud-based architectures.
- Practical experience with healthcare data standards specifically FHIR and SMART on FHIR.
- Familiarity with FHIR profiles and FHIR Implementation Guide.
- Experience documenting systems deployed on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Knowledge of EMR systems and clinical workflow integration patterns.
- Understanding of privacy legislation (PHIPA) as it applies to healthcare IT solutions.
- Experience with documentation platforms like GitHub or Confluence.
