DBA - Database Administrator - Data/Database Administration - FileMaker Server and FileMaker Cloud
Location:Austin TX 78701 (Remote)
Start Date: 10/20/2025
End Date: 12/15/2025
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (excluding State holidays)
Position Overview
We are seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) with specialized expertise in FileMaker Server and FileMaker Cloud to support a short-term modernization project. The DBA will be responsible for recovering administrative access to an on-premise FileMaker Server v13 installation creating secure backups and migrating the existing database to FileMaker Cloud. This project will be executed in three phases: access recovery database creation in FileMaker Cloud and full database migration and verification.
Key Responsibilities
Phase 1 - Recover Admin-Level Access & Backup
- Recover administrative-level user access to FileMaker Server v13.
- Create new administrator-level access credentials.
- Generate and deliver two (2) local backups of the on-premise database.
Phase 2 - Create Cloud Database Structure
- Build a new unpopulated FileMaker Cloud database duplicating the structure (schema) of the existing on-premise system.
Phase 3 - Database Migration & Verification
- Upload a copy of the on-premise FileMaker database to FileMaker Cloud.
- Verify successful migration by:
- Ensuring all records and fields are properly populated.
- Conducting functionality checks across all record data fields.
- Testing a minimum of 350 nonsequential records against the on-premise database to validate data accuracy.
- Provide certification to the Agency confirming that the cloud database is fully functional and accurately populated.
Deliverables
- Functional administrator-level credentials for FileMaker Server v13.
- Two (2) backup copies of the on-premise database.
- New FileMaker Cloud database identical in schema and function.
- Migrated and fully functional FileMaker Cloud database.
- Certification of successful transfer and data accuracy (including 350-record test report).
Candidate Skills & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- 4 yearsof experience recovering FileMaker Server access.
- Hands-on experience with FileMaker Server and FileMaker Cloud.
- Proven experience migrating on-premise FileMaker databases to FileMaker Cloud.
This is a short-term high-impact project for a skilled FileMaker DBA looking to apply technical expertise in database recovery migration and modernization.
