About the Position

We are embarking on a global transformation of our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) moving from our current application to a modern modular microservice-based platform. This new system will support more than 7000 users across 100 global locations covering critical processes such as quoting sample login laboratory workflows instrument integrations results calculation reporting and invoicing.

To drive this transformation we are seeking an experienced Product Manager to lead the product ownership function. This role will oversee a team of 68 Product Owners each responsible for 34 modules as well as business analysts and other relevant roles. You will be the central point of coordination between business stakeholders software development teams and end users ensuring that the new LIMS platform meets business needs delivers value and supports our long-term strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a team of Product Owners business analysts and story writers.
  • Ensure consistent agile practices and ways of working across the product ownership team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration innovation and continuous improvement.

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define and maintain the overall product vision and strategy for the new LIMS system.
  • Align product roadmaps with business priorities and organizational objectives.
  • Ensure effective prioritization of work across multiple modules and teams.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Act as the key liaison between business functions laboratory operations and software development teams.
  • Work closely with business leaders subject matter experts and user focus groups to understand requirements pain points and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Translate business needs into actionable product goals and user stories.

Agile Delivery

  • Champion agile ways of working across distributed teams.
  • Facilitate cross-team alignment and dependency management for 2030 system modules.
  • Ensure product increments are delivered iteratively with a focus on business value and usability.

Governance & Quality

  • Define and uphold standards for backlog management requirement documentation and acceptance criteria.
  • Monitor KPIs adoption and overall delivery uptake and performance of the product.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements relevant to laboratory operations.

About you

Skills and Behaviors:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders at all levels and align diverse business functions.
  • Excellent communication skills with high level of English proficiency both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance strategic vision and operational detail.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced highly demanding and matrix organization.
  • Ability to obtain organize and analyze data and utilize to develop and implement processes to drive efficiency.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Recognized leadership and people development skills.
  • Experience in change management related projects.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 5 years proven experience as a Product Owner in complex enterprise-scale systems.
  • Experience in a senior product role (e.g. Senior Product Owner Lead Product Owner or Product Manager) managing multiple products or modules.
  • Strong background in agile methodologies (Scrum SAFe or similar) with experience leading distributed teams.
