British American Tobacco Mexico has an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer in Monterrey
As a Data Engineer supporting the LATAM North DRBU you will play a key role in enabling data-driven decision-making for Customer Experience (CX) and One Source projects. You will design build and maintain robust data pipelines and architectures that ensure reliable scalable and high-quality data is available for analytics and business intelligence.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Design develop and maintain scalable data pipelines to support CX and One Source initiatives.
- Integrate data from multiple sources ensuring data quality consistency and security.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders BI teams and IT to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
- Enable self-service analytics by ensuring data is accessible and well-documented.
- Monitor troubleshoot and optimize data workflows for performance and reliability.
- Support data governance documentation and compliance with internal and external standards.
- Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new data technologies and tools.
- Ensure timely delivery of data assets to support business reporting and analytics needs.
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across functions and suppliers to ensure that the solution is working as expected and data is accurate.
What are we looking for
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering Information Systems or related field.
- 2 years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
- Proficiency in building ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Python SQL PySpark or similar.
- Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g. Azure Data Factory AWS Glue GCP Dataflow).
- Strong understanding of data modeling data warehousing and database management.
- Familiarity with data visualization and BI tools (e.g. Power BI Tableau).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills in English.
- Experience working in cross-functional and multicultural teams.
