Main Purpose of Job
This position works in conjunction with the Director Nursing theAssistant Director of Nursing and Registered Nurse Manager to ensure servicesprovided in respective areas are at all times in full compliance with applicablestandards and requirements inclusive of Standard Nursing Practice Act; Departments ofHealth and Mental Hygiene and Budget and Management; Office of Health Care Quality;COMAR 10.07.20 and 10.22.10; MEMORANDA OF UNDERSTANDING(S); Center forMedicare and Medicaid Services; ICF-IID; Annotated Codes Health Care Article; CenterPolicies and Procedures; and ancillary provisions/practices/protocols arising from orimplementing one or more governing standards; and with the goal to meet NADD (NationalAssociation of Dual Diagnosis) Certification and tangent with other DDANursing Professionals certification may also be explored through other credentialing bodies.
This position would directly plan organize and coordinate the Centers healthprogram as it relates to certified nursing assistants role in that care. This positionwould be responsible for coordinating education training to the certified nursingassistant and monitoring and ensuring their competency in all aspects of care as itrelates to their scope in accordance Standard Nursing Practice Act; Departments of Health andMental Hygiene and Budget and Management; Office of Health Care Quality; COMAR 10.07.20 and10.22.10; MEMORANDA OF UNDERSTANDING(S);
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Determined bythe Maryland State Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements forRegistered Nurses.
Experience: Three years of experienceas a Registered Nurse to include one year in a supervisory administrative orteaching capacity and two years in the Medical option.Notes:1. Candidates may substitute thepossession of a Bachelors degree in Nursing or a related field from anaccredited college or university for one year of the required generalexperience. may substitute thepossessionof aMasters degree in Nursing or a health related fieldfrom an accredited college or universityfor two years of the requiredgeneral experience.3. Candidates may substitute Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nursingclassifications or Nursing and Hospital Administration specialty codes in theNursing field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience. DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate should possess the following:
- Experience and/or knowledge of personality development theories for evaluating behaviors and reactions of patients.
- Experience supervising and providing instruction to professional nurses and non-professional health care staff.
- Experience working with mentally and intellectually disabled and forsenic populations.
LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Candidates for positions in thisclassification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from theMaryland State Board of Nursing 4140 Patterson Avenue Baltimore Maryland21215 or possess a current multi-state license in party states that candidateshave declared as primary states of residence.
2. Employees in this classificationmay be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employeesassigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operatorslicense valid in the State of Maryland.3. Employees in this classificationmay be required to successfully complete cardiopulmonary resuscitation trainingand maintain current certification.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
