PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The primary role of the Instructional Coach is to support teachers with targeted professional learning coaching lesson modeling and access to evidence-based instructional strategies that can be used to differentiate instruction and meet the needs of at-risk/economically disadvantaged learners. The goal of the Instructional Coach is to improve and sustain student academic achievement by promoting a culture for learning across all content areas. The Instructional Coach will collaborate with teachers and campus instructional leaders to analyze student data and progress monitor student achievement to identify areas of need and adjust instructional practices. The Instructional Coach will ensure at-risk/economically disadvantaged students including Other Special populations such as homeless foster-care and Military connected are receiving the differentiated instructional supports needed to improve academic addition the Instructional Coach will support the development implementation and progress monitoring of the campus intervention system to ensure the effectiveness of the interventions and adjust as needed for continued progress.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Bachelors degree from accredited university
Masters degree preferred
Valid Texas teaching certificate Elementary
Bilingual or ESL Certification required
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Deep knowledge of research-based reading strategies and best teaching practices
Understanding of curriculum assessments and data analysis to align instruction
Knowledge of writing strategies across the content areas
Knowledge of Texas Essential Knowledge & Skills (TEKS) and State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR)
Provide resources and job embedded professional learning through Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
Strong computer/ technology skills (Microsoft Office Google SharePoint)
Ability to create an atmosphere of trust and collaboration among staff to promote professional growth and accelerate the reading achievement of all students
Strong interpersonal Communication/Presentation skills needed to promote peer coaching and model instructional lessons
