The Water Distribution Staff at Public Water Supply District #2 are responsible for the operation and maintenance of the drinking water treatment and distribution systems and the building and grounds.
Schedule: The daily schedule is Monday Friday 7:30AM 4:00PM. Our operators participate in an on call rotation for plant coverage outside of normal workday hours including addition operators will be required to respond to emergency situations and work in inclement weather as needed. A

Job duties may include but not limited to:

    • Daily operations of all water system wells and facilities within our 450 square mile service area.
    • State and Federal regulated compliance sampling in the distribution system.
    • Maintenance of all water system facilities and their appurtenances (Wells pump stations control valves vaults water storage structures and grounds).

What will you need to succeed

    • Missouri Drinking Water treatment plant operators license preferred.
    • A valid Missouri motor vehicle operators license.
    • Working knowledge of the principles procedures methods equipment materials and tools employed in the operation and maintenance of Water Treatment and Distribution systems.
    • Thorough knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions involved in water treatment work.
    • Knowledge of computer applications.
    • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
    • Ability to lift or move up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
    • Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.
$25.59 - $28 an hour
Depending on qualifications and experience.
