The Economic Consultant performs strategic economic and decision analysis including valuation of enterprise-wide assets across diverse fiscal regimes in alignment with Chevrons Investment Manual guidelines.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Supporting Corporate Business Development Business Units and Chevron New Energies with opportunity assessments and commercial evaluations.
Conducting economic modeling contract reviews fiscal model development and decision analysis.
Leading and participating in project framing sessions for Business Development opportunities.
Providing competitive and owner-perspective insights on potential deals.
Participating in negotiation teams as needed.
Collaborating cross-functionally with planning finance legal tax treasury and negotiations teams to ensure optimal value realization.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in engineering business finance economics or a related field
10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry
Strong financial modeling skills including expertise in Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) analysis combined with a deep understanding of industry-specific variables
Solid understanding of the oil and gas value chain (upstream midstream downstream) including technical processes regulatory environments and market dynamics
Excellent communication problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills
Proven ability to collaborate across functions (engineering commercial finance legal tax)
Skilled at managing multiple projects and adapting to shifting priorities
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA)
CFA or CPA certification
Experience with international petroleum agreements (e.g. PSCs)
Exposure to New Energy investments such as carbon sequestration renewable gas and low-carbon power (solar wind geothermal hydro)

Relocation is not offered for this role. Only local candidates will be considered.

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
