Position Summary

Responsibilities Include

Clean and sanitize restrooms classrooms offices residence halls lounges and common areas
Sweep mop vacuum and dust floors carpets and surfaces
Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners
Refill supplies such as soap paper towels and toilet paper
Clean windows mirrors glass doors and other surfaces
Report maintenance issues (e.g. plumbing lighting or damage) to appropriate personnel
Perform deep cleaning during academic breaks or as scheduled
Maintain cleanliness in dining areas and event spaces before and after functions
Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines
Secure buildings and rooms after cleaning as necessary
Assist with moving furniture or setting up spaces for events meetings or campus activities
Support special projects such as summer turnover cleaning in residence halls

Physical Requirements of the Position:

Ability to stand walk bend and stoop for extended periods of time
Frequent lifting carrying pushing or pulling of objects up to 2540 pounds
Ability to step stools to reach high surfaces
Repetitive motion tasks such as sweeping mopping and wiping
Use of hands and arms to operate cleaning equipment and tools
Comfortable working in a variety of environments (e.g. dorms offices restrooms outdoor walkways)
Must be able to perform tasks in both hot and cold conditions depending on building and weather
