Job Description

Business Insider is hiring a Director Luxury & Lifestyle Auto Travel & Lifestyle to join our Luxury & Lifestyle team. We are looking for an experienced client-facing enthusiastic digital media expert capable of creating advertising solutions such as custom content and data driven digital programs for Auto Travel and Lifestyle clients. Experience and existing relationships in these markets are a must.

The Role & Team:

As a Director Luxury & Lifestyle you will leverage your client contacts and digital marketing mindset and industry expertise to create value for clients win new business and be integral to revenue and client growth for our team.

You will work across Lifestyle verticals with a focus on Auto Travel and Lifestyle (including some CPG Entertainment etc.). You will bring high-level industry expertise a deep list of client contacts and a collaborative and creative spirit.

The Director Luxury & Lifestyle reports directly to the VP Sales Lifestyle & Luxury and sits on the Sales Team. This position is based in either in Los Angeles or New York City HQ (depending upon the candidates experience and contact list) with an in-office presence of at least 3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serving as an evangelist for Business Insider internally and externally; clearly articulating the companys unique value proposition
  • Lead high-level relationships with key Auto Travel and Lifestyle clients and agencies
  • Develop custom client solutions utilizing Business Insiders entire suite of products including Branded Content Display Video Programmatic Podcasts Data and Live/Virtual Events.
  • Create maintain and sustain relationships with media agencies creative agencies and clients directly while hitting quarterly sales targets.
  • Work across multiple client and agency partners i.e. branded content video digital and innovation teams to deliver successful campaigns
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure flawless pre-sale strategy and post-sale execution
  • Drive consistency and strategy across cross-functional comms planning cycles ensuring that all stakeholders are in the loop.
  • Serve as the internal voice of the client during planning and brainstorming
  • Stay on top of cross-vertical industry trends campaign performance and competitive intelligence
  • Serve a team lead for the Auto Travel and Lifestyle (CPG Entertainment etc.) verticals which includes identifying industry trends requesting relevant research sharing with the team and acting as lead for the development of sales materials for both verticals.
  • Play a key role in translating BIs editorial and commercial strengths into solutions aligned to Auto Travel and Lifestyle media buyers
  • Represent BI at industry events partner meetings and immersive presentations to drive business objectives and raise the profile of the BI brand.
  • Help Business Insider win share of wallet in a competitive set that includes publishers like NYT WSJ Bloomberg Vox and others
  • Identify organic growth opportunities and areas for upsell (e.g. new lines of business additional budget holders tentpole moments)

The ideal candidate has:

  • A Strong network. You have strong relationships with clients and agencies alike and a track record of collaborating effectively in mutually-beneficial ways.
  • 8 years of Digital media expertise. The role requires a sophisticated understanding of both creative custom packages and data-driven audience programs and experience and ability to sell these across various geographic areas. The ideal candidate must be able to spark interest with clients in market by creating value on the fly understanding and presenting creative ways to meet client digital marketing objectives.
  • A solid understanding of programmatic both tech and sales sides of the business is preferred.
  • An insatiable curiosity combined with the ability to translate abstract concepts and ideas into actionable marketing solutions is essential.
  • A strong creative mindset and passionate about storytelling technology media and selling winning new business and growing existing business.
  • Deep understanding of the digital media space how combinations of media platforms can bring value to clients and ability to position Business Insiders products and ad solutions on their behalf and close deals. As well as creating custom content solutions.
  • All candidates must have at least a cursory knowledge of programmatic ad selling.

Salary &Benefits:

  • Base salary: $140000 - $150000 (dependent on skills experience and competencies)
