Job Description

Overview

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Marketing and PR Assistant to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a creative and fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to both marketing and public relations efforts. If youre a strong communicator with a knack for organization and a love for market research wed love to hear from you!

Responsibilities

  1. Marketing Support
    • Assist in designing and proofreading acquisitions decks and marketing plans to ensure accuracy and alignment with brand goals.
    • Write and edit compelling content including positioning statements book hooks ad copy and sales conference points.
  2. Public Relations Support
    • Draft press kits to support PR campaigns and book launches.
    • Build and maintain media lists to ensure effective outreach and coverage.
  3. Mailing Coordination
    • Assist with office mailings including formatting mailing spreadsheets for Goodreads giveaways ARC (Advance Reader Copy) mailings and other promotional efforts.
  4. Market Research and Analysis
    • Conduct market research to identify trends opportunities and competitive insights.
    • Request and analyze trend reports providing actionable insights to inform marketing and PR strategies.
  5. Collaboration and Organization
    • Work closely with the marketing and PR teams to ensure seamless execution of campaigns.
    • Stay organized and manage multiple projects with attention to detail and deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Candidates who are available to work in a full-time capacity in 2026 or 2027 are eligible for this internship; open to rising seniors recent graduates masters students or entry level candidates with up to two years of work experience.
  • Candidates must be available to work 28 hours per week Monday through Thursday from June 8 to August 13 2026. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are mandatory in-office days at our Nashville headquarters while Mondays and Thursdays are remote workdays. Compensation for this internship is $18 per hour.
  • Applicants mustbe authorized towork in the United States.

  • Ideal candidates are either currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from an undergraduate or masters program.
  • A passion for books is highly valued!
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in design tools (e.g. Canva Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with PR tools and platforms (e.g. Cision Muck Rack) is a bonus.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and translate it into actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • A passion for books storytelling and the publishing industry is a plus!
