As Team Lead Accounting (m/f/d) you take on a responsible and impactful role within a transforming international organization. You shape and strengthen the UK finance setup while working closely with Group Finance in this position you lead a small local team act as the main interface to headquarters and ensure that local statutory requirements and Group IFRS standards are fully aligned. With a collaborative team culture focus on professional growth and continuous improvement you contribute directly to transparency compliance and the financial success of the company.
Accounting & Reporting: You oversee day-to-day accounting operations in the UK (AP AR GL fixed assets) ensure accurate statutory financial statements under Local GAAP prepare monthly and year-end reporting packages in line with Group IFRS requirements and reconcile Local GAAP results with Group IFRS reporting by explaining differences.
Compliance: You ensure adherence to internal accounting policies IFRS standards and local regulations.
Team Leadership: You lead and develop a small accounting team in the UK by providing guidance coaching and feedback ensuring clear responsibilities efficient workflows and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
HQ & Stakeholder Interface: You act as the primary contact between the UK accounting team and Group Finance in Hamburg ensure Group guidelines and policies are applied locally provide financial insights to HQ and local management and collaborate with auditors tax advisors and other external stakeholders.
Controls & Audits: You perform and review regular balance sheet reconciliations monitor compliance with internal controls and risk management requirements and support both internal and external audit processes.
Education: Degree in Accounting Finance or an equivalent qualification
Certification: Professional certification (e.g. ACA ACCA CPA) preferred
Experience: At least 8 years of proven experience in accounting roles ideally with exposure to both Local GAAP and IFRS
Leadership: Experience in leading a small team and managing stakeholders across different geographies
Systems Knowledge: Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office (Excel PowerPoint); experience with consolidation systems is an advantage
Communicative: You explain financial matters clearly even to colleagues without a finance background
Detail-Oriented & Analytical: You have a strong eye for detail excellent analytical skills and work independently
Collaborative & Responsible: You combine reliability with strong interpersonal skills and foster a team-oriented way of working
