Job Summary
Health Care Resource Center is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to administer prescribed medications as part of a collaborative treatment team alongside Physicians and Nursing Supervisors.
The medication dispensing nurse will also bear the responsibility for maintaining dispensing equipment managing the medication inventory and reporting pertinent patient treatment information.
The ideal candidate for this position will exhibit a cooperative demeanor in interactions with supervisory counseling staff and will demonstrate a non-judgmental and accepting attitude toward individuals with Substance Use Disorders.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Administer daily medication to patients in accordance with program policies and medical protocols.
- Utilize automated dispensing systems calibrate pumps and maintain dispensing equipment.
- Produce and uphold accurate records and reports in compliance with Company protocol as well as Federal and State regulations.
- Ensure adherence to security standards for the distribution and storage of controlled substances as stipulated by the Code of Federal Regulations.
- Order receive and stock medications in accordance with Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and State regulations if granted Power of Attorney.
- Conduct daily assessments of patients.
- Assist the Nursing Supervisor in orientating new nursing staff.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Submission Requirements:
- Minimum of one year of experience in medication administration
Required.- Experience at an Opioid Addiction Center Highly Preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required.
- Completion of Skills Checklist Required.
- Submission of two Supervisory Reference Forms
Required.
Certification Requirements:
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
State License Requirements:
- Active Massachusetts License is mandatory.
Additional License Requirements:- Must be currently active.
