Position Description: The Department of Pediatrics Division of Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Childrens Wisconsin is recruiting a full-time tenure-track Assistant Associate or Full Professor. Successful candidates for this position will be thought leaders engaged in innovative laboratory-based or translational research investigating molecular mechanisms of immune regulation in gastrointestinal or liver autoimmune diseases transplantation or mucosal immunology which may include studies of adaptive and innate immune cells the cytokine and chemokine milieu immune metabolism or other regulatory factors influencing disease pathogenesis or treatment. This role would include a joint venture with the Center for Immunology and Department of Microbiology & Immunology. Position Highlights: Qualifications The Division of Pediatrics Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition: The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition is ranked in the top 20 of US News and World Report and is recognized as one of the top pediatric gastroenterology programs in the country for our clinical and research excellence. We have extensive subspecialty expertise with services provided throughout the north and southeast regions of Wisconsin along with a nationally and internationally recognized neurogastroenterology program. Our program is comprised of 26 faculty members 6 APNPs and 7 instructor fellows who partner with a team of specialized nurse clinicians dietitians social workers pediatric psychologists and research staff. The Department of Microbiology & Immunology The Department of Microbiology & Immunology is a vibrant academic home for more than 40 research faculty and nearly 40 predoctoral fellows. The department completed state-of-the-art renovations in 2019 that include an open-lab concept designed for collegiality and collaboration. Recognized internationally for its pioneering work in bone marrow transplantation cellular immunotherapy and immunodeficiency immunologists in the Center for Immunology and the department provide exceptional links to pioneering translational immunologists in the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research Cancer Center the Center for Infectious Disease Research the Max McGee Diabetes Center and Center for Microbiome Research spanning Froedtert Hospital Childrens Wisconsin Childrens Research Institute and the Versiti/Blood Why MCW Medical College of Wisconsin The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is the states only private medical school and health sciences graduate school. Childrens Wisconsin and Childrens Specialty Group Childrens Wisconsin is an independent health care system dedicated solely to the health and well-being of children. The hospital with locations in Milwaukee and Northeast Wisconsin is recognized as one of the leading pediatric health care centers in the United States. Childrens Wisconsin provides primary care urgent care emergency care specialty care mental and behavioral health services community health services foster and adoption services child advocacy services and health insurance plans. Each year the Childrens Wisconsin team has more than 6.5 million touchpoints with kids and families through medical care advocacy research and Northeast Wisconsin Childrens Wisconsin is expanding its services to provide increased access to outstanding pediatric subspecialty care. This includes a pediatric hospital with a Pediatric Unit Level III NICU and Infusion Center which is located at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah WI. A multispecialty pediatric ambulatory clinic with on-site laboratory and radiology services opened in Appleton 2023. Childrens and its joint venture with the Medical College of Wisconsin the Childrens Specialty Group (CSG) - are the largest providers of pediatric healthcare in the state serving the children and families of Wisconsin with the highest level of care through their American College of Surgeons Level I Childrens Surgery Verification Center Level I Pediatric Trauma Center Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence 72-bed Level IV NICU Level IV Epilepsy Center and a 72-bed 2021-2022 CW and CSG had six specialties ranked by US News & World Report: cancer; cardiology and heart surgery; gastroenterology and GI surgery; neurology and neurosurgery; orthopedics; and pulmonology. With over 70 specialties and 675 providers CSG providers had 220000 outpatient visits at 13 regional care sites 67000 emergency department/trauma center visits and over 9000 admissions.
