Job Description:
We are seeking a precision Machinist to join our Machine Shop in Redmond Washington. This is aDAY SHIFT POSITION and typically works Mondays - Thursdays from 5:00AM 3:30PM but candidates must be willing and available to work other shifts or overtime as needed to meet delivery schedules.
Under direction of the Machine Shop Supervisor Lead or designee the Machinist will perform set-ups and machining of close tolerance aerospace hardware on numerically controlled and conventional machine tools.
In ourRedmond WA site(Seattle area) wefabricate assemble and test chemical and electric thrusters as well as small scale propulsion systems. Our electric propulsion systems enable a wide variety of missions from the exploration of our solar system to global communication and the surveillance of severe weather and wild fires
Essential Functions:
- Reading and understanding GD&T engineering drawings and blueprints including true positioning and conventional tolerancing.
- Reading and following production planning.
- Running jobs close to tolerances of /- .0001.
- Maintaining a rejection rate of less than 2%.
- Using precision measuring instruments to check work.
- Setting up and running the following: numerically controlled and conventional machine tools (includes programming).
- Understand and use trigonometry.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent preferred with a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience in close tolerance machining or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience in close tolerance machining.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Knowledge of machining materials such as aluminum tool alloy carbon steels stainless steel titanium plastics and Inconel is preferred.
- Knowledge of hard/exotic metals
- Knowledge of unconventional machining
- Knowledge of machine maintenance
- Knowledge of Microsoft suite
In compliance with pay transparency requirements the salary range for this role is $29.33/hr - $54.33/hr. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
