Job Summary:
The University of Colorado Denver is seeking a qualifiedPlumberto join its Facilities Management team. This position operates under the general supervision of the Trades Shop Supervisor and is responsible for performing skilled plumbing work across campus facilities. The role includes the maintenance repair installation and modification of plumbing systems such as water lines sewer systems water heaters softeners and restroom fixtures.

Key Responsibilities:
Install maintain and repair plumbing systems and components in university buildings
Diagnose and resolving plumbing issues in a timely and professional manner
Modify and upgrade existing plumbing infrastructure to meet operational needs
Ensure all work complies with applicable codes safety regulations and university standards
Collaborate with other trades and departments to support campus-wide maintenance and operations
Maintain accurate documentation of work performed materials used and service records
Work Location:
Onsite this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Denver Colorado.

Qualifications:
Please make sure to include the following in your resume: job title duties months and years employed and average hours worked per week as minimum experience is calculated on a 40 hour/week basis.
Minimum Qualifications:
3 years of progressive experience in the plumbing industry with service and installs.
Necessary special qualification: Must possess and maintain a current journey-level plumber license.
Substitution: Successful completion of a formalized plumbing apprenticeship program or higher level non-correspondence coursework in the same fields from an accredited vocational school or university may substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
Colorado law requires that candidates for state government jobs be residents of Colorado at the time of application.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
State of Colorado Backflow Certification
Experience in pipe welding
Experience fixing and maintaining equipment and machinery.
Experience planning and laying out complete project designs.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work and communicate effectively with customers peers and trade co-workers.
Ability to manage multiple tasks.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with persons of diverse backgrounds.
Excellent oral communication skills with the ability to handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.
Mechanical ability: able to learn how to diagnose and troubleshoot the problems related to plumbing failures and be able to fix it.
Ability to utilize a computerized maintenance management system to document daily work orders.
Conditions of Employment:

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $4906 - $5690 per month.
This position is eligible for overtime compensation.
The above hiring range represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
If you have prior state-classified service in the same class series as this position your pay may be set at a higher amount per the state Step Pay Program implemented on July 1 2024.
