Basic Function: | To direct administrative fiscal and operational functions of University Advising and Career Exploration and Development. Reports to the Dean University College. |

Examples of Duties: | Duties/essential functions may include but not be limited to the following: Direct all operational administrative and fiscal activities related to academic advising and career services. Provide leadership and oversight of University Advising and Career Exploration and Development initiatives. Oversee the development of handbooks policies and procedures for academic advising and career services. Provide direct supervision of unclassified staff. Oversee coordination and communication with colleges to identify and refer students in need of support and to ensure timely responses to student issues. Ensure the appropriate tracking and compliance procedures and practices are in place for all programs under purview. Assist the dean with preparation of annual reports such as the Campus Completion Report. Lead the establishment of consistent and student-centered training professional development evaluation processes and procedures relevant to academic advising e.g. GPS plans graduation review and clearance advising pins dismissal appeals and reinstatement/probation. Ensure assessment plans for areas under purview are in place and effectively used for continuous improvement. Ensure appropriate staffing of academic advising and career services to support student success. Perform additional duties as assigned. |

Minimum Qualifications: | Masters degree and ten years progressively responsible experience in higher education. License/Certification: Not applicable. Knowledge Of: Personal computer applications (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite) * Student information systems (Banner EAB Navigate 360) * Professional standards and best practices for academic and career advising * Skill In: Supervision of multiple staff * Effective written and interpersonal communication skills * Communication and collaboration across multiple divisions/departments * Ability To: Building relationships and consensus* Design and implement systems to support student success. |
Preferred Qualifications if applicable: | Experience overseeing an academic or career advising center/department at a large university. |
