Job Description

Summary:

An Ocean Transportation Company is seeking a Customer Service Coordinator to joing their Traffic Coordination team. This position is responsible for managing bookings export documentation and customer communication. This role works closely with both customers and warehouse staff to ensure cargo is processed and shipped accurately and on time.

Responsibilities:

* Prepare and manage export documentation (invoices dock receipts bills of lading AES filings).
* Communicate with customers by phone and email to confirm details resolve issues and provide shipment updates.
* Release cargo to warehouse once documentation requirements are met.
* Track and report on cargo status delays and pending documentation.
* Support traffic coordinators with bookings and high-volume calls/emails.
* Act as a backup for other coordinators and assist with additional duties as needed.


Qualifications:

* 2 years of Ocean Transportation industry experience in customer service or logistics documentation
* Strong customer service and communication skills (clear English required Spanish preferred).
* Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines.
* Familiarity with cargo tracking BOLs and intermodal coordination is a plus.

Preferred:

* HAZMAT certification
* Ability to type 50 wpm
* Familiar with export shipping documents: Shipper Export Declaration Ocean Bill of Lading documents Airway Bills.
* Knowledge of state federal and international applicable laws and regulations (Federal Maritime) Commission U.S. Customs environmental and hazardous import/export).
* Familiarity with International Commercial Terms (INCOTERMS) and shipping terms.
* Ability to type 45-50 WPM.
