Summary of Job Duties:
The Arkansas Center for Health Improvement (ACHI) is a health policy organization that is administratively housed within the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. ACHIs mission is to be a catalyst for improving the health of Arkansans through evidence-based research public issue advocacy and collaborative program development. ACHI has served as a major contributor and trusted health policy leader in statewide efforts to improve the health of Arkansans and to drive innovation and efficiency for the states healthcare delivery system.This position is temporary parttime. The Data Analyst (TEMP) will work alongside other data analysts to develop and implement advanced data and statistical analytics using private and public health care data to inform research and analytics on important health policy questions.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree plus 3 years of experience in analytics health services research statistics mathematics computer science or health policy/economics or related field.
OR
- Masters Degree plus 1 year experience in analytics health services research statistics mathematics computer science or health policy/economics or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Health care utilization and cost analyses.
- Knowledge and use of national data sources (e.g. ACS HCUP MEPS).
- Health services research such as health care quality Medicaid eligibility Medicaid/Medicare claims health disparities or chronic diseases.
- ICD-9/10 Diagnosis ICD-9/10 Procedure CPT HCPCS DRG/MS-DRG NDC Type of Service Place of Service and other codes commonly utilized in health care data sets.
- Knowledge of ArcGIS or other geographical coding programs to assist in health geocoding/mapping.
