The Role

Were looking for a dynamic Sales & Marketing Manager to help tell Stauntons story to the this role youll develop and lead marketing and sales initiatives that grow leisure travel group business and meetings/conventions. If youre a creative strategist who thrives on building relationships crafting campaigns and driving results this is your chance to make a measurable impact in one of the most charming small cities in America.

What Youll Do

• Develop innovative tourism products packages and partnerships that attract visitors.
• Lead Stauntons annual content marketing strategy including social media web content photography storytelling and creative new platforms.
• Drive group sales by booking hotels venues and attractions while building relationships with meeting planners and tour operators.
• Represent Staunton at trade shows industry missions direct sales efforts high-level meetings to grow market share collects data for potential leads; arranges site visits responds to inquiries and elicits support for proposed programs; performs networking by participating in organizations clubs educational events and other social activities which include potential clients and fellow members of the hospitality industry; works to build a strong presence of the Staunton Tourism Department through consistent attendance active participation and support.
• Create and implement engaging itineraries and collateral for domestic and international markets.
• Cultivate strong relationships and shared education opportunities with local partners ensuring collaboration and shared success.
• Track performance metrics measure ROI and prepare regular sales and marketing reports to inform strategies.

• Thought leadership and capacity to identify challenges and create effective solutions.
• Act as a brand ambassador consistently representing Staunton with professionalism and enthusiasm.

What Were Looking For

• Bachelors degree in marketing public relations communications hospitality or related field.
• 35 years of professional experience in tourism hospitality destination marketing or sales. (Hotel CVB DMO or Entrepreneur background a plus.)
• Strong communicator with proven ability to write present and engage across audiences.
• Results-oriented with a track record of meeting/exceeding sales or marketing goals.
• Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling digital marketing and experiential tourism.
• Ability to travel frequently work occasional evenings/weekends and represent Staunton with passion and professionalism.
