Remuneration: $184668 pa HEW Level 10A (plus 17% employer superannuation)

The Opportunity

The Director Equity Diversity and Inclusion within the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) is instrumental in supporting the development and delivery of the Universitys Equity Diversity and Inclusion strategy and framework across the Monash Group as well as driving accountability and reporting to governance committees on a range of equity matters. The role also leads the Universitys prevention of sexual harm and gender-based violence (Respect at Monash) strategy and framework across the Monash Group.

Working closely and collaboratively with other EDI teams and stakeholders across the Monash Group including the Student Experience Portfolio Monash HR Faculties and Campuses the Director will develop implement and evaluate a range of education policy project and reporting initiatives relating to the field of EDI across the University.

As the Director you will provide expert advice strategic oversight and insight into the current and emerging EDI trends and issues and their impact within the higher education addition you will provide specialist advice to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) and senior stakeholders across the University deliver projects and initiatives and achieve compliance in accordance with legislation and best practice.

About you:

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • Exceptional leadership and management capabilities with a proven track record of delivering strategic advice driving policy development and leading high-impact initiatives in large and complex organisational settings.
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in equity diversity and inclusion including the prevention of gender-based violence and a thorough understanding of relevant federal and state legislation regulatory frameworks and best practice approaches.
  • Outstanding planning analytical and conceptual skills with demonstrated success in leading major organisation-wide projects identifying emerging trends and risks and delivering innovative evidence-based solutions.
  • Highly developed communication and relationship management skills with the ability to influence negotiate and build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups both internal and external to the University on complex sensitive issues.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams foster a strong workplace culture and leverage deep understanding of university operations and structures to successfully implement strategic initiatives across the institution.
