Abbott Rapid Diagnostics is part of Abbotts Diagnostics family of businesses bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry leading technologies. Our in-vitroDiagnostic Assay manufacturing site in Dundee has an exciting opportunity for a Calibration Engineer to join the team.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

  • Own the full lifecycle of calibration for site equipmentfrom implementation to decommissioning.

  • Schedule and perform calibration and maintenance activities ensuring compliance with procedures and quality standards.

  • Partner with operations and engineering teams to minimize downtime and keep production running smoothly.

  • Manage calibration data in our Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and generate reports for audits and KPIs.

  • Collaborate with external vendors and internal teams to resolve calibration issues quickly and effectively.

  • Support continuous improvement by reviewing procedures and identifying opportunities for efficiency.

  • Act as the subject matter expert for calibration during quality audits.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Degree in a STEM discipline (or equivalent experience).

  • Skills:

    • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.

    • Ability to interpret technical data and make risk-based decisions.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint).

  • Experience:

    • Familiarity with calibration processes and CMMS (Maximo experience is a plus).

    • Previous engineering or maintenance experience desirable.
