TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT REQUIRED TO REMAIN IN THE CLASSIFICATION AFTER EMPLOYMENT:
A Federal Communications Commission General Radio Telephone Operators License or Amateur Technician License must be obtained within three (3) months of the candidates hire date & maintained throughout employment.
UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Exposed to high voltages inclement weather dust dirt fumes loud & constant noise; exposed to mosquitoes rodents wasps & poisonous snakes at remote tower sites; installations & repairs require working in confined spaces such as under vehicle dashboards & in vehicle trunks; on call 24 hrs. 7 days per week.
This position is essential meaning the duties this job performs are critical to the continued operations of the Ohio Department of Public Safety during a public safety emergency (OAC 123:& DAS Directive HR-D-11). This position will be required to report for duty during any public safety emergency.

Completion of two-year technical program in electronics or radio communications AND 24 mos. electronics or radio communications position; for positions requiring travel must possess AND maintain valid drivers license per Section 4507.02 (A)(1) of Revised Code.

Note: To meet the minimum qualifications through completion of a 2 yr. technical program applicants must be able to verify that the technical program consisted of a minimum of 21 credit hours upon completion.
