The primary role for all staff members is to carry out the functions of the Division of Assessment Recording and Taxation in a manner that is friendly respectful resourceful and willing in order to create an environment of safety trust and belonging for all.

Who We are Seeking: Multnomah Countys Department of County Management Division of Assessment Recording and Taxation is seeking to fill a Commercial & Industrial Property Appraiser 2 (Emphasis on Retail and Multifamily) position. This classification is the second level (journey level paraprofessional) of three in the Property Appraiser classification series and performs the full range of duties of appraising industrial commercial and multifamily properties for ad valorem taxation purposes in accordance with Oregon Department of Revenue rules and procedures and industry best practices. Individuals work independently applying well developed subject knowledge and exercising judgment and initiative while assisting in the implementation of goals and objectives

This recruitment may be used to fill full-time part-time temporary limited duration and on-call positions.

Type of Position: This is an hourly represented position that is eligible for overtime.

Schedule: Monday - Friday; There may be some flexibility with scheduling and daily start and end times. During the training period your schedule will match the lead workers schedule. After the training period a variety of flexible schedules such as 9/80s 4/10s or 5/8 hour shifts are available.

Telework: This position is designated to routine telework meaning you will be working remotely (from home) most of the time; a hybrid schedule is also available. As with all routine telework positions employees may be required to come into the office on occasion. The designation of Routine Telework may be subject to change at a future time. Currently all employees must reside in Oregon or Washington; the county cannot support ongoing telework from other locations.

Work Location: This position works onsite at Multnomah Building: 501 SE Hawthorne Blvd. Portland OR 97214.

However actual compensation will be determined in accordance with the Oregon Equal Pay Law and will take into account factors such as the candidates relevant experience and education. Serving the Public Even During Disasters

Everyday Multnomah County staff work together to serve as a safety net for our communities. During a disaster this safety net becomes even more critical. All County employees have a role in serving the public during inclement weather natural disaster or other types of community emergency response. During these emergency responses while typically there begins with a call for volunteers county employees may ultimately be reassigned from their current position to a role in the emergency response in order to support the critical needs presented by our communities.
