What Youll Do as a Mechanical Systems Engineer

As a Mechanical Systems Engineer at Globe you will play a vital role in designing analyzing and optimizing mechanical systems used in industrial machinery and manufacturing processes. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative reliable and cost-effective solutions that meet customer and production requirements. This position blends technical expertise leadership and creative problem-solving - making it ideal for someone with both strong mechanical aptitude and the communication skills to engage with engineering and project teams alike.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Design & Development - Design and develop mechanical systems and components for advanced manufacturing equipment utilizing CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD).
Performance Optimization - Conduct engineering calculations simulations and analysis to validate system performance and reliability.
Documentation & Reporting - Prepare detailed design documentation including technical drawings schematics and specifications.
Problem Solving - Lead troubleshooting efforts and resolve technical challenges related to mechanical systems.
Collaboration & Communication - Work closely with engineering operations and project management teams to ensure that designs meet performance quality and cost targets.
Leadership & Mentorship - Mentor less experienced engineers and support continuous improvement within the engineering department.
Planning & Budgeting - Assist in developing project timelines and budgets while tracking progress and managing resources effectively.
Cross-Functional Support - Engage with internal stakeholders including Customer Service Operations and Sales to address system performance installation planning and customer requirements.

Required Skills & Experience:

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (BSME BSEE or BSIE). Minimum of seven years of hands-on engineering experience in industrial machinery or material handling equipment design.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. Inventor AutoCAD) and engineering analysis tools (e.g. FEA).
Strong leadership and project management skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with diverse teams.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with industrial automation robotics and controls.
Proven experience managing engineering projects and leading cross-functional teams.
Working knowledge of project management tools (e.g. MS Project).
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and techniques.
