Position Summary The Volunteer and Church Engagement Assistant will provide administrative and event support to the Volunteer and Church Engagement team.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / FUNCTIONS Administration
Manage Communication - Respond daily to all emails and volunteer application notifications in the general volunteer inbox Fresh Market inbox and other emails as assigned.
- Convert Leads to Contacts in Salesforce anytime someone signs up to join the Prayer Newsletter via the website.
- Assist with other miscellaneous administrative tasks as needed.
Maintain Records and Track Volunteer Activity - Utilize Google Sheets and Salesforce to maintain accurate records of all weekly and monthly church engagement activities and metrics.
- Monitor weekly and monthly attendance of volunteers supporting the Breakthrough Youth Network programs and event
Assist with Volunteer Onboarding - Process new volunteer applications ensure background checks are completed facilitate new volunteer phone interviews and virtual or in-person meet-and-greet sessions.
Event Support
- Support the Volunteer Engagement team with weekday Manna and Fresh Market volunteer groups - help with setup and logistics.
- Host church groups serving at Breakthrough when needed.
- Provide Christmas Store event support
- Help organize supplies and order additional needed supplies
- Manage wish lists for the Christmas Store -keeping track of progress
- Create and manage spreadsheets to track volunteer interest
- Correspond with volunteers for sign-up event reminders and other related event communication
- Assist with other administrative tasks such as shopper registration flyers area descriptions making copies creating registration documents etc.
- Provide on-site support December 18-20

QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a nonprofit setting preferred.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities and written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint Publisher) and ability to work efficiently within programmatic databases; knowledge of Salesforce preferred.
- Understanding urban realities with a strong passion for connecting churches and volunteers with those affected by poverty to facilitate mutually beneficial and transforming relationships

- Cross-cultural competency: sensitivity to serving in a diverse urban context.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Work Environment While performing the duties of this job the employee will work in an office and/or classroom located in a multi-purpose facility and/or outdoors and thus will be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be high depending on the activities in the facility.
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to walk and/or sit; use hands and fingers to feel objects tools or controls reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; regularly talk or hear. The employee must be able to bend stoop pull lift as well as have overhead extension of arms. Must be able to stand for long periods of time; be able to lift carry or move at least 50 pounds. Must adhere to proper handling and lifting techniques. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision distance vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

- Sick leave - Part-time employees in this position are eligible for 1 hour of sick pay for every 35 hours worked in a pay period. This leave can be used for medical and safety reasons.
- Paid leave -Part-time employees in this position are eligible for 1 hour of paid pay for every 35 hours worked in a pay period. This leave can be used for any reason.
COMPENSATION $20/hr
