About the Role
We areseekingskilled and experiencedDisability Support Workers to join ourSupported Independent Living (SIL) willsupport peoplewith disability living in shared housing providing various supports including personal care and daily living.
The people you will be supporting require a range of support and so successful candidates should be experienced and confident in working within a varied environment which may include behaviours of concern high medical needs high intensity daily personal activities and heavy hoisting and manual handling.
The successful candidatemustbe able to commit a variety ofcasualshifts inRoseberyChifleyMascot MatravilleChifleyandKensingtonincluding short 3.5 or 4 hours shifts and sleepover shifts across a7 dayroster.
Key Responsibilities
Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
Provide assistancewith High Intensity daily personal activities
Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
Maintainthorough record keeping
Build positive relationships with clientsfamiliesand colleagues
Advocate for client choice and control
Skills & Experience
Experience working with people with disability
Previousexperience working behaviours of concern
Prior experience working with high medical needs
Confidence in driving a wheelchair van
Manual Handling and Hoisting experience
An unrestricted Australian drivers licence
A current First Aid and CPR Certificate
Successful candidates willbe requiredto clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtainanNDIS Clearance.
