This position is located in Arlington VA and is in office Monday through Friday.

Role Description: At CoStar Group our finance group centralizes transaction processes providing accurate reporting financial resolutions and proper forecasting analysis. Joining the team offers access to financial specializations including accounts payable accounts receivable cash and asset management client contracts and billing and revenue recognition.

This Staff Accountant will also be responsible for various month end and quarterly close duties including global consolidation which includes eliminations foreign currency cost allocations and various other ad hoc projects as assigned. This role will also include reporting responsibilities related to monthly management financials and quarterly and annual SEC filings. This person will be involved in the integration of acquired businesses including the integration and mapping of GL systems.

This position requires a foundation in basic accounting concepts (Accruals/Contingencies Fixed Assets Prepaid Expenses Receivables and Payables) in addition to a strong aptitude in information systems and data processing. Information must be processed quickly and accurately often in high volumes and on very tight schedules.

Responsibilities:

Preparation of monthly journal entries and supporting schedules and review of monthly financial results

Prepare and review financial statements and reports essential for decision-making

Conduct research and analysis of accounts to ensure accuracy

Assistance in a variety of aspects of the Enterprise Resource Planning system implementation and maintenance

Assistance with special projects within department or as part of cross-functional teams

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance or related field from an accredited not-for-profit University or College.

A track record of commitment to prior employers.

2 years accounting experience working in a large international public company and/or Big 4 accounting firm

Consolidations and/or financial reporting experience

Experience with Oracle Cloud ERP or similar system

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience at a Big 4 accounting firm or other regional public accounting firm

Licensed CPA or candidate a plus

Strong project management time management and communication skills

Ability to think critically and analyze data effectively

Ability to work with financial systems design structure and reporting

Ability to work effectively within a team to complete projects
