The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Business and Financial Services Division in Helena.
It is the mission of the Business and Financial Services Division to provide professional services in operational areas critical to the efficient and effective management of the Department. The Office of Procurement and Contracts within the Business Services and Internal Support Bureau provides the general and specific oversight of the decentralized procurement function for (DPHHS). Under the general supervision of the Central Procurement Supervisor this position is responsible for ensuring that decentralized Division staff for the department and its contracted providers are following contract requirements. This includes coordination and oversight of contracting assisting in drafting and negotiating contracts serving as contact with Contract Officers and assuring Department and statewide procurement processes are complying.

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity
Extensive knowledge of the theory and principles of government accounting procurement and contracting.
Ability to perform intellectual analysis and evaluation in forming a variety of administrative and program management responsibilities; to independently research and interpret information and develop evaluation methods and procedure for state and federal contracts and grants.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Meet minimum qualifications:
Bachelors degree in accounting finance business economics or related field.
Two years of job-related experience in finance contract management or accounting.
Four years of support experience with contracts and/or related high-level administrative support.
Other combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

This position may be eligible for partial teleworkwithin the state of conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state policy.
This position may be eligible for a statutory $1.00 an hour base pay increase effective July 1 2026.
