Job Description
Food Services AssistantBurr and Burton Academy seeks a full time Food Service Assistant. The Food Service Assistant supports the daily operations of the schools food service program by helping prepare and serve meals that meet USDA and school nutrition standards. This role works closely with the Food Service Team to maintain a safe sanitary and welcoming dining environment for students and Duties and Responsibilities:- Work with the food service team in preparing nutritious meals in accordance with USDA guidelines and school nutrition program standards.- Operate the student café during breakfast and lunch which includes preparing and serving food handling point-of-sale transactions and maintaining a clean welcoming environment.- Assists with the management of day-to-day food service operations including food preparation cleaning receiving and stocking products.- Maintains a high level of customer service to students staff parents and community members at all times.- Assist with clean up in food service areas and equipment; familiarity with sound safety and health practices required. - Operate a Point of Sale (POS) software and accurately enter meals snacks and beverages. Training will be Knowledge Skills and Experience:- Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks.- Ability to interact positively with students and staff.- Work closely with colleagues to maintain smooth benefits package that includes medical and dental coverage 403(b) matching contributions paid sick/personal days and schedule follows academic school calendar.
