Salary:

Classification 1- Level 2

Starting $17.18 per hour

SUMMARY: To assist and relieve the Director of Curriculum of a variety of tasks to enhance the smooth and efficient operation of the office of Director of Curriculum.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains confidentiality of all confidential material.
Monitors instructional and grant budgets.
Proficiently uses AS400 for budgets purchase orders etc.
Prepares purchase orders and check requests.
Maintains encumbrance records against various budget categories.
Maintains a filing system for state and federal programs including documentation and communication with private schools as well as Personnel Activity Reports (PARs).
Submits payroll for programs under the direction of the curriculum office.
Processes conference and workshop registrations/reimbursements for all instructional staff and administrators.
Maintains accurate documentation for District grant programs and all programs from the instructional office.
Helps maintain Instructional Data management systems and other related network based and web based technology.
Maintains department website.
Keeps records and payroll for workshops.
Manages professional development for the district maintains records calendar and reports.
Prepares packages for all meetings chaired by Director of Curriculum.
Prepares letters notes and reports as sketched to him/her by his /her administrator.
Prepares and writes routine correspondence reports and record/post minutes at assigned meetings.
Opens mail orders supplies and handles professional organization memberships.
Regular reliable and punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.
Performs such other duties as may be assigned by administration.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school graduate plus five years secretarial/office management experience.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Computer skills and ability to operate a personal computer and related software. Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint and Forms or willingness and ability to acquire skills as soon as classes are available*. Ability to develop effective working relationships with staff and the school community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. Proficient and effective telephone skills and ability to greet the public and represent the District in a professional manner. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

*Preference will be given to candidates possessing these skills. Successful candidate needing training must be willing to take classes after work hours without compensation.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree preferred (non-degreed candidates may receive consideration)
Previous school employment experience preferred
Computer proficient in AS400 Microsoft Office Suite Foxbright Kalpa Schoology FMX Frontlne Canva and Adobe Acrobat Pro or willing to be trained
Ability to accurately input and retrieve computer data and work at computer for long periods of time
Must possess a high degree of efficiency and accuracy
Ability to work with general supervision and/or independently
Must possess a high degree of organizational skills.
Must possess a high level of skill in communication both written and verbal
Must possess strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with office staff administration students and parents
Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and prioritize action items
Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students staff and the community

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Language Skills Ability to read analyze and interpret documents. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators staff parents and students.

Mathematical and Reasoning Skills Ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations.

APAs work within an office setting and move about as needed. The job typically requires minimal physical exertion; individuals in this position may be on their feet throughout the workday. The employee may need to travel to other buildings occasionally. The employee will need specific vision abilities to perform office work. The employee may be required to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
