Our client is a fast-growing general contractor and builder of hyperscale data centers in France and across Europe. Backed by a major parent company but operating with a startup mindset they have multiple projects throughout France already underway.
Reporting to the BU or Technical Director the HSE Manager will oversee health safety and environmental performance on hyperscale data center construction projects. This role is central to building and maintaining a strong safety culture ensuring compliance with regulations and protecting both people and projects.
The initial assignment is site-based in the south of France with further large-scale projects to follow nationwide.
Act as the main HSE contact for clients subcontractors and project teams.
Develop implement and monitor HSE procedures and policies.
Supervise site HSE teams (internal and external) and ensure contractor compliance.
Conduct risk assessments audits and site inspections.
Manage safety inductions access permits and training for site staff.
Investigate and report on incidents and accidents ensuring corrective actions.
Provide regular reporting to internal leadership and client representatives.
Liaise with authorities to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
Bachelors or Masters degree in Safety - other engineering focuses are also considered
7 years experience in HSE management ideally on large-scale construction projects.
Knowledge of safety regulations standards and best practices in France/Europe.
Strong communication training and leadership skills.
Fluent in French and English.
This is a newly created role bringing safety expertise in-house for the first time. Starting with a hyperscale project in the south of France the successful candidate will later support additional projects across the country.
Because it is a new position there is significant potential to grow into a more senior managerial role shaping the companys long-term HSE strategy and building a team over time.
