Senior Associate (Property & Casualty) Actuarial Services

The Actuarial Services practice is just one of many consulting services groups that form part of RSMs consulting line of business. A career within Actuarial Services will provide you with the opportunity to contribute insurance risk advisory and consulting services to clients in variety of industries including insurance financial services not-for-profit government and many more. You will have the opportunity to provide advice covering traditional actuarial services risk and financial modeling software enterprise risk management insurance management capital and financial modeling process risk and controls data analytics and insurance transformation projects. Simply put you will consistently strive to provide economic and financial value optimization for our clients and their customers using risk management and insurance strategies and techniques.

As a Senior Associate Actuarial Services youll blend technical expertise with collaborative problem-solving to deliver measurable impact for our middle-market P&C clients. You will:

Client leadership & delivery

  • Contribute to actuarial engagements spanning pricing reserving financial condition testing and capital modeling.
  • Collect reconcile and analyze client data ensuring accuracy and consistency across actuarial workflows.
  • Develop actuarial reports presentations and dashboards that clearly communicate findings to clients executives and regulators.
  • Build and test actuarial models using modern platforms with attention to governance controls and reproducibility.

Growth & market strategy

  • Support client relationship management by preparing proposals client letters and tailored presentations.
  • Conduct market research and contribute to thought leadership that showcases RSMs actuarial capabilities.
  • Assist in building business cases and forecasts helping senior team members translate insights into client strategies.
  • Maintain and analyze client databases surfacing insights that inform pricing product reforms and market competitiveness.

People & practice development

  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across actuarial risk and consulting teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
  • Pursue learning opportunities beyond your comfort zone expanding technical regulatory and client-facing skills.
  • Stay current on evolving regulations actuarial reforms and pricing analytics trends and share insights to shape RSMs service offerings.

The successful candidate should meet the following requirements:

  • University degree in Actuarial Science Statistics Mathematics or similar
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Active working toward Fellowship of the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS)
  • Experience in P&C insurance pricing segmentation modeling product reforms data analytics and predictive modeling.
  • Experience working with Crown corporations and Care-First insurance systems.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and attain deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic environment

  • Keen to understand and learn innovative concepts and practices
  • Previous work experience and strong knowledge of actuarial pricing software an asset (AKUR8 Radar Emblem)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
  • Previous work experience with SQL Visual Basic R Python or Tableau considered an asset
  • Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written

At RSM an employees pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including but not limited to education skills work experience certifications location etc. As such pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $82500 - $132000

Individualsselected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
