Teacher Assistant -ELL/ML (Multilingual Learners) - One Year Only - Sperreng Middle School
- Part-time position3.25 hours/day16 hours/week
- Schedule Monday-Friday to follow Student Calendar
- Hourly rate: $22.81
- Non-exempt
- Benefits not included
- Substitute Certificate required but Missouri Teacher Certification preferred
Summary: To provide instructional assistance for ML students under the direction of the ML teacher as well as provide support in the general education classroom.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Other duties may be assigned.
- Collaborate with teachers
- File student portfolios and other confidential paperwork
- Apply accommodations and modifications on classroom assignments and test with the guidance of the ML teacher
- Test giving in a small setting
- Understand the objective of anML class by comprehending learning levels
- Work closely with students and reinforce skills introduced by the teacher
- Tutorindividual students (e.g. help them prepare assignments or explain material they do not understand); assist with independent study
- Conduct small groups and one on one instruction to help them master assignments and reinforce learning concepts
